AGS is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the Heather Began Memorial Education Grant! Thanks to this generous grant, we will be able to purchase several new books for our school library.
The Heather Began Memorial Education Fund was established by Robert and Julie Began, along with their daughter, Hannah. This grant holds a special place in our hearts, as Heather was both a graduate and former employee of Altamont schools. We are truly honored to be a recipient of this meaningful grant and are grateful for the opportunity to help carry on Heather’s legacy through education and a love of learning.

Pre-school registration forms are available in the Altamont Grade School office.
There is a new student information packet and a returning student information card that needs to be completed.
Meet the teacher and supply drop is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, August 18 beginning at 8:30am. The first day of school will be Wednesday, August 19th(Pre-School Only).
K-8
Meet the teacher is on August 17th from 4 to 6pm. The first day of attendance is on August 18th.
The office will be open the week of July 27th to July 30th from 6am to noon and August 3rd to August 6th from 6am to 3pm.

Reminder that the Ramblin' Rose School Supply Bus will be in the AGS parking lot today(July 23rd) from 10am to 4pm.
If you are planning to pay your registration fees in person, you are welcome to do so at either school building. Please call before coming in to make sure someone is available.
With the High School parking lot currently under construction, we recommend heading to the Grade School to make your payment. It will likely save you some time and parking hassle!

Weather-related schedule changes may occur this winter. When decisions are made, we will promptly communicate them via social media, website, & app notifications for both school and extra-curricular activities. As long as your child's school has your current telephone number, you will also receive a call/text in regards to any schedule changes. Mrs. Donaldson's 8th grade authors and illustrators recently had the opportunity to read their own children's books to the younger classes. We are not sure if the big kids or little kids enjoyed it more. Thanks to Mrs. Reardon, Mrs. Borah, Mrs. Pike, Mrs. Miller, and Mrs. Cameron for carving out time for them to read and their students for being such great listeners!
Mrs. Cameron & Mrs. Hovis' 1st graders sent Veterans Day cards to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. Mrs. Hovis' husband, Master Sergeant Justin Hovis, is currently stationed there. MSgt Hovis is an Altamont alumni and father to AGS students Oliver & Bo. Thank you to all the past and present Veterans for their service, courage, and sacrifices in protecting our country!

This year AGS introduced "Family Pods" to our students. Mr. Kull's Family Pod has been named the "Cheetos". Today, Mr. Kull went ALL out making this Halloween a fantastic one for his Pod Family by dressing up as none other than "Chester the Cheetah" and gave each of his student family pod members a Trick or Treat mini bag of Cheetohs.
