Preschool & Kindergarten

Kindergarten TeachersKindergarten is the bridge between Pre-school and 1st Grade.  We  teach them to become independent learners through the use of play based centers, Daily 5(reading) and math centers.  Students get to attend P.E. daily, Music and Art twice a week and  go to Library once a week. The Kindergarten Teachers are Mrs.Jackman and Mrs.Worman. 

Kindergarten Halloween Mrs.Jackman has been teaching Kindergarten in Altamont for 29 years.  She received her 
Bachelors and Masters in  Administration from Eastern Illinois University.  Also, she has her Masters in Instructional Strategies from Rockford College.  She resides in Altamont with her husband and 3 children.
 
Mrs.Worman has been teaching Kindergarten in Altamont for 12 years.  She received her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from Illinois College.  She resides in rural Effingham with her husband and 3 boys.

Mrs AkemanMrs. Akeman has been teaching in Altamont for 8 years, taught in Casey-Westfield schools for 6 years, and taught in Effingham schools for 1.5 years.  She received her Bachelors from Eastern Illinois University and her Masters in Special Education from Greenville University.  She resides in rural Effingham with her husband and two children.
