6th Grade

Mrs GrimsleyMrs McGinnisThroughout their education, students are always expanding their vocabularies.  In the sixth grade, students will acquire new words and how to interpret the most precise intention of words and phrases used.  While they are learning the different meanings of words and phrases they are applying that same knowledge to how those elements can be used in text and develop the text’s ideas and themes.

In the sixth grade instructional time will focus on: connecting ratio and rate to whole number multiplication and division, complete understanding of division of fractions and extending the notion of the number system, writing, interpreting and using expressions and equations and developing an understanding of statistical thinking.
